St. Patrick’s Day

Today is St. Patrick’s Day, which didn’t really mean anything to this little Greek girl until I started dating the Irishman almost 9 years ago. Part of the reason that I call my husband “the Irishman” is because that’s how I think of him in my own head. Both his first and last name are decidedly Irish, his ancestry is primarily Irish (with some Hungarian thrown in to keep it interesting), he’s a beer drinking (non-practicing) Catholic and finally, he was born on this most holy Irish holiday.

So to my dear and darling husband, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

I thought that it would be appropriate to finish with a traditional Irish saying.

May the road rise up to meet you,
May the wind be always at your back,
May the sun shine warm upon your face,
The rains fall soft upon your fields,
And until we meet again,
May God hold you in the palm of his hand.

Happy St. Patty’s Day everyone!
